Are You Coming?

Growing up, my mother would always say: “Girl, walk like you have somewhere to go.”

Although I didn’t truly understand her sentiments then, I now know that she meant to use my time wisely and make every second in life count.
Time is our most precious resources as we cannot get it back.
Far too often we walk through life using our lowest frequencies of power. Furthermore, we allow things to take our power away. I say “no more”. We must walk every day and take every step with our destiny in mind.
As you prepare to write the last few lines in chapter 2015 of your book, what will you do to walk in power?

Here are 5 things that you can do now to ensure that you walk with your destiny in mind:

1. Arm yourself with tools for battle.

Let’s be clear, if you dare to step towards your destiny into a life of abundance and prosperity, there will be battle. Anticipating and being prepared for these battles is the difference between success and failure.
Remember to keep a constant flow of resources at your disposal. A Heroine in Heels is a guide that teaches you what to do in the midst of battle. There are a wealth of books and information that teach us to plan and create and be inspired but what about the low points in life? I wrote A Heroine in Heels because I know that we need to know what to do when things are tough and when the sun doesn’t seem to shine.

2. Align yourself with people who want to fight beside you.

Remember I wrote about the little red wagon that you are pulling? The New Year is a perfect time to allow those who are not pulling the wagon with you to get off. In the same token, this is also a perfect time for you to exit. Pulling dead weight makes you tired and weak and drains you of all of your resources. Stop it.

3. Recognize your power.

Walk into the room like you own it. You do. No one can be you. You are as unique as your fingerprint. There can only be one you and this notion must drive your every move. Stop making comparisons, there are none. Put your crown of self-esteem on and never leave the house without it. Remember your worth. You must know your value or no one else will.

4. Leave excuses at the door.

There will never be a perfect time, you won’t always have the right amount of money, the connections that you are seeking may not yet be intact but that is not a red light directing you to stop. When you are walking with your destiny in mind, it is as simple as putting one foot in front of the other. Step over distractions in the way, adjust your skirt, reapply a fresh coat of lipstick and keep walking. There is no excuse good enough to not realize your full potential.
Consider this: Oprah Winfrey was raped, impregnated and lost her child and went on to become North America’s only black billionaire, Tyler Perry was molested and homeless and went on to become Forbes’ highest paid man in entertainment, Malala Yousafzai was called by name from her school bus by a group of men and shot three times, once in the face and went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize for the education of girls. Can we really make an excuse for not achieving excellence?

5. Empower others.

We become most powerful when we are of service to others. I always say that instead of searching for purpose, we must search for ways to positively impact. In these moments we are most beautiful and most powerful. We don’t need New Year Resolutions, only a plan and the will to place one foot in front of the other. I’m walking into 2016 with power!
Are you coming? All my love. ❤️
