Have you ever gotten tired of the abundance of self-help information and constant overflow of quotes? Although we should let the positivity flow freely, we are bombarded with messages.
In my second book, A Heroine in Heels, I began to write poetry as a method to express my true feelings but also to break up the monotony of what we read. I want to share some of my poetry with you. Sometimes we just want to be soothed and to let our minds drift and out thoughts float.
I wrote “No Longer Anyomous” for the first chapter in A Heroine in Heels in which I shared my story about rejecting true love and really not knowing how to recognize it because I had grown up in a home without a father. My rejection of love led to failed relationships and friendships as I placed a low value on my need for people. I thought that I was supposed to journey the world alone. I couldn’t have been more wrong and I learned to open my heart to love. I now love abundantly and I love hard. I pray that this poem fills your heart with love and as always, all my love to you. ❤️

I recognize you in the darkness. I can hear your smile. You warm me like the sunlight every once in a while. I can hear you in the distance and I now know you by name. There is not one who is sweeter or one who moves me the same. I ran from your embrace for far far too long and now that I am no longer afraid, I want to listen to your song.
Your lyrics bring me peace and your melodies soothe my soul. Your glory is for the world to behold.
I recognize you in the darkness. I can hear you smile. You warm me like the sunlight every once in a while. I can hear you in the distance and I now know you by name. LOVE. There is not one who is sweeter or one who moves me the same.
